pgadmin3 1.8 amd64 Deb

The current ubuntu version of pgadmin3 is hopelessly out of date (v1.3), and there doesn’t seem to be an amd64 deb of v1.8 forthcoming, so I’ve compiled 1.8 into a .deb because I use it at work quite often.

I have made it available here:

http://downloads.shaunjohnston.com/software/packages/pgadmin3_1.8.0-1_amd64.deb

Prerequisites that I’m aware of are wx-widgets and pgadmin3-data (get them using apt-get or your favourite package management gui). Your mileage may vary of course.

New Office

We arrived at the new office in milton this morning to find the removalists hadn’t reassembled our desks. It took us about 2 hours to put them together using rudimentary tools, but in the end it worked out. There’s still a lot to do but the new office is coming together nicely. We met our manaccom compadrés who seems like a bunch of nice chaps and lasses, and had a bbq later in the afternoon. I’m liking the vibe thus far.

Moving Office Today

Our office is moving today. The plan is that I will put my effects into a box, seal it up and go home, then come straight to the new office located in Milton tomorrow, where my desk and things will be waiting for me. Hopefully reality will reflect this!

Truck vs. Bus

I was walking across the traffic island between Eagle Street and the intersection between Elizabeth and Creek Streets on my way to lunch when I saw a bus and a truck simultaneously pull out and try to turn right into Elizabeth from Creek. The bus ended up crossing the truck’s path and the truck scraped a nice long dent into the side of the bus with an horrendous grinding noise. Nice work guys.

Moving Office

After a lot of preparation and anticipation, we finally got the ‘official’ email notifying us of Jumbo’s office move today. We’ll be moving to Milton next Thursday evening. The new premises is near a park (one of my gripes with the Riverside Centre is that it’s in the guts of the city and it’s hard to find a quiet spot to take some time out), has easily accessible shower facilities, a rec room (apparently it will be equipped with an xbox360 and a wii) and a lot more space.

Will be a nice change I think.
